Check Your PH Levels for Good Health
the food we put into our bodies greatly affect our health, or lack thereof. Every bit, every bit, every drop of liquid that passes through our lips has the power to affect the body in ways we can not even begin to imagine. You May have a clue what I was referring to, if you are one of the millions of people on this planet who have some kind of allergic reaction to certain foods or food products.
One simple way to begin our journey to eat right and eat well is to know you 2 things: acidity and alkalinity, or what we call our pH levels. Our bodies thrive on the slightly alkaline environment in order for all living cells to function properly. Too much acidity contributes to the degeneration of these cells and paves the way for a myriad of aliments and diseases that afflict modern man. How did this happen? Well, our bodies go to extreme lengths to maintain our blood pH slightly alkaline level of about 7.4. When you do not nourish our body with an alkaline-forming foods, our body leaches calcium, magnesium, potassium and other vital minerals and nutrients out of our bones, our digestive system and other organs to ensure normal functioning of our blood and fluid in our cells. If our body fails to do so, we die.
osteoporosis, cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes are just some of those diseases caused by highly acidic body. Other diseases acidosis were premature aging, lack of energy, constant fatigue, loss of body tone and depressive tendencies. digestive system reacts to excessive acid with the onset of gastritis, gastric ulcer and reflux. Acids are released through the skin, resulting in eczema, headaches, cramps, acne, ulcers, irritation, swelling, inflammation, excess oil, rosacea and other skin / nails / hair problems. The skin also tends to get irritated in areas where I sweat the most. We feel it in our overall well-being through unexplained headache, low fever, leg cramps and spasms, and loss of drive, joy and excitement.
This is quite a list. And one we should not be taken lightly.
Our standard modern diet consists almost entirely of acidic foods such as white flour, meat, sugar and a host of processed foods. Stimulants such as coffee, tea and alcohol are also extremely acidifying. Alkaline-forming foods such as whole fruits and vegetables, take a very small portion on our plate. In some cases almost zero. The result is a diet that does not have enough alkalinity to neutralize the excess acid, causing the body to break in different ways.
the problem lies not so much on a particular food, but the cumulative effects of eating highly acidic foods cause the body for years to finally break down and die due to lack of proper nutrients.
One simple way to check your body pH is easy to buy and use the same test strips that you used in high school chemistry class, or test the pH in your aquarium. Some studies recommend testing and saliva and urine. This test provides an indication of your cellular pH and can be used to track changes as they work to normalize their pH. On the pH scale, 7 is neutral, 0 - 7 is acidic, and 7-14 is alkaline. normal pH inside the cell was 7.4, which is slightly alkaline. The first morning urine should be in the range 6.5 to 7.5. If the reading falls below 6.5, you are too acidic. Occasional readings above 7.5 are normal, but with readings above 7.5 are an indication of tissue damage, a pH of about 8.0 is a serious matter.
How to maintain a good balance of acidity and alkalinity? Here are a few simple rules:
1 Eat more whole, organic raw fruits and vegetables.
2nd Reduce the amount of acid-forming foods such as meat, white flour and sugar from your diet.
3rd Drink water.
4th Drink fresh fruit and vegetable juices.
5th Avoid highly toxic environment and reduce stress.
6th Get some physical activity, but not too much. Over-activity causes acid build up in your body.
